Yea, that is why I said gritty! It had its own charm. The lines on this new method are much better overall.

Yes the first chapter has a completely different look. I admit I was still learning how to color or how I wanted to color. I was very much a novice with any type of coloring beyond any basic cartoony, simple solid coloring. While I do still like what I did with the first chapter, it does feel a bit muddy to me now. I would like to add, I also enjoyed the gritty palette from the opening chapter.

If you hadn’t said anything, I’d just think “oh, it looks better for some reason.” LOL! I like the atmosphere with this style. And it’s not overbearing or jarring, the transition from the previous chapter is just fine.
