Welcome To London Chapter 5 Page 4

On a side note, a friend and I started an art podcast. We talk about various art and comic struggles. It’s not really a ‘how to’ podcast, more of a WTF podcast. Or something, who knows, it’s young, so it’s still growing. Come listen to our growing pains. Art Stab

Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me…la la la la la

Obiligatory ‘I have a Patreon page’ page.

I just wanted to say thank you to every who has stuck with Shiver Bureau and continues to read the misadventures of Pickle, Trish and gang. All your kinds comments have been the best support I could ask for…well, besides your monetary support 🙂

But really, if you can help, that would be great. I’d love to get rid of the ads, post my first graphic novel Cubicles online, and also start posting Shiver Bureau twice a week (perhaps even thrice a week?). With your help, we can make it happen.

Don’t worry if you can’t support via Patreon. Shiver Bureau will be around for a long time yet and available to read for free. Even better then Patreon is sharing Shiver Bureau with a friend.

I just recently realized I’ve been so busy drawing Shiver Bureau that I haven’t tried to push it out to wider audience. I could really use your help with that. If you tell two friends and they tell two friends….well, if you’ve see Wayne World, you know what happens.

If you can help, check out the Patreon page for rewards and goals I am hoping to reach. If you have any questions, reward requests or anything, please feel free to reach out. I don’t bite, I promise.

If you want to see me doing some penciling of this very page check out my YouTube page….

Thanks again for everything. VIA LA SHIVER BUREAU!

Guesting on a Video Cast

I have the honor of hanging out live with D. Forrest, creator of The Legendary Sisters of the Laughing Doggebi, this Sunday night at 930pmEST. Come check it out. No idea what we will talk about, but it’s live so you can ask questions while you watch Dee drawing. Not really sure how he draws and talks at the same time…it’s magic…or aliens.

Here’s the links, won’t work till 930pmEST on Sunday 1-25 (MY BIRTHDAY!, you got to come), though. Weeeeeeee

Welcome To London Chapter 5 Page 2

Officially launched my Patreon Page. There also a little image at the top right of my page. Anyone notice that? See it’s not always just ads. Well maybe that’s still an ad…okay you got me.

If you don’t know what Patreon is, check out this other blog post.

Support if you can, if you can’t no big deal. I still want you to read Shiver Bureau either way. Would love to hear feedback on Patreon. I think it is pretty cool, what about you?

Speaking of Patreon, I want to create a process video. Does anyone have any requests? Would you like to see me pencil a page, ink a page, color a page? Something else maybe?

Patreon Page

This is the banner I did for my Patreon page.

Patreon is this awesome website that allows creators to earn money for the things they create. Patreon describes itself thusly…

“Founded in May 2013 and based in San Francisco, California, Patreon was created to enable fans to support and engage with the artists and creators they love. Empowering a new generation of creators, Patreon is bringing patronage back to the 21st century.”

The easiest way to explain Patreon is by calling it an ongoing Kickstarter. However, instead of helping support a product, you are supporting the creator (artist, writer, performer, musician). You pledge an amount to give to the creator every month or per creation. Support of a dollar a month can go a long way to making it easier for creators to create.

Although Patreon isn’t product focused, there are still some really cool rewards available. They include great stuff like behind the scene art, concept art, prints, original art, video art cast, Google Hangouts, and original art. If my Patreon page achieves certain levels of support then I will also remove ads, post 2 pages a week. I may even start posting 3 times a week.

This isn’t a subscription service. It doesn’t mean that you will have to pay to read Shiver Bureau. Shiver Bureau will still be available to read on the website. I want as many people to be able to read Shiver Bureau as possible. Patreon support will make it easier for me to create comics and also spread the word about the comics.

If you can support me, that’s awesome. If you can’t support me, don’t worry. Even if I get ZERO support on Patreon it won’t mean the end of Shiver Bureau. I’ve been posting Shiver Bureau for years and I have no plans to stop.

Don’t forget there are other ways to support besides money. Telling a friend or posting a link to social media can go a long way into helping Shiver Bureau and me.

If you would like to know more about Patreon, here is a link to a podcast with the creator of Patreon. He is also a musician and a very exciting speaker. His passion for creating and creators is evident and inspiring. Give it a listen, you won’t be disappointed. PODCAST

My Patreon page is an ongoing, evolving creature. Things may get changed, removed or added. So if there is anything you would like to see, let me know, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Even if you think Patreon is stupid, I would like to have that conversation.

Welcome to the New Year!

I know this isn’t the first post of the year, but I scheduled the last post almost 3 months ago 🙂

Well good news, I’ve finished all the inking for Shiver Bureau’s first story arc. It is such a weight off my shoulders. Sure I still have to do the ink wash, colors, and lettering but that isn’t as back breaking as pencils and inking. It feels great and it makes for an excellent start to my new year.

Now that I am ‘mostly’ done with Shiver Bureau, I am hoping to experiment on some smaller projects, maybe do some pinups, exploratory short stories with different styles, fool around more with ink and brush, do some digital painting. The sky’s the limit and I’m pretty excited to start learning again.

Is there anything you’d like to see?

I hope everyone had an awesome holiday season. Here’s looking forward to another year!
