This is the banner I did for my Patreon page.

Patreon is this awesome website that allows creators to earn money for the things they create. Patreon describes itself thusly…

“Founded in May 2013 and based in San Francisco, California, Patreon was created to enable fans to support and engage with the artists and creators they love. Empowering a new generation of creators, Patreon is bringing patronage back to the 21st century.”

The easiest way to explain Patreon is by calling it an ongoing Kickstarter. However, instead of helping support a product, you are supporting the creator (artist, writer, performer, musician). You pledge an amount to give to the creator every month or per creation. Support of a dollar a month can go a long way to making it easier for creators to create.

Although Patreon isn’t product focused, there are still some really cool rewards available. They include great stuff like behind the scene art, concept art, prints, original art, video art cast, Google Hangouts, and original art. If my Patreon page achieves certain levels of support then I will also remove ads, post 2 pages a week. I may even start posting 3 times a week.

This isn’t a subscription service. It doesn’t mean that you will have to pay to read Shiver Bureau. Shiver Bureau will still be available to read on the website. I want as many people to be able to read Shiver Bureau as possible. Patreon support will make it easier for me to create comics and also spread the word about the comics.

If you can support me, that’s awesome. If you can’t support me, don’t worry. Even if I get ZERO support on Patreon it won’t mean the end of Shiver Bureau. I’ve been posting Shiver Bureau for years and I have no plans to stop.

Don’t forget there are other ways to support besides money. Telling a friend or posting a link to social media can go a long way into helping Shiver Bureau and me.

If you would like to know more about Patreon, here is a link to a podcast with the creator of Patreon. He is also a musician and a very exciting speaker. His passion for creating and creators is evident and inspiring. Give it a listen, you won’t be disappointed. PODCAST

My Patreon page is an ongoing, evolving creature. Things may get changed, removed or added. So if there is anything you would like to see, let me know, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Even if you think Patreon is stupid, I would like to have that conversation.

This is the banner I did for my Patreon page.
