Merry post-Christmas and pre-New Years!
Not to get up on a high horse or anything, but it is time for a PSA.
I realize everyone loves their dogs and knows their dog is the best dog ever and would never hurt a fly. However, do the rest of us a favor and keep your dog on a leash when out in public.
My dog was attacked on Christmas day and her ear was torn. We spent several hours trying to get the bleeding to stop, which it wouldn’t and ended up going to the vet. The final bill was near 300 dollars. Not too mention the fact that my dog had to be administered drugs, has her head completely bandaged and is completely miserable.
The other dog’s owner was nice and apologized. They also offered to pay the vet bills. But that won’t repay the amount of stress and worry my family has been through.
Please leash or otherwise contain your animals…and pick up their pooh! It’s da’ law!
Some tea sounds nice right now.
🙁 Sorry to hear about your dog. I hate seeing dogs without leashes around here. I have neighbours down the street who let their (large) dogs out without a leash and they are not friendly dogs to begin with. The police have been called on several occasions. Not to mention that the dogs sometimes walk out onto a major road, it’s just a matter of time before something very bad happens. Leashes are so important for many reasons.
Hope she makes a speedy recovery physically and mentally.
Thanks Darrell. The cops haven’t come out and taken their dogs or anything yet? I don’t understand why people are so lazy or inconsiderate.
I guess there are just too many headaches for the police if they try to take the dogs away. They seem to have to wait until something “bad” happens. But I was talking to one of the police who have gone out and the encounters are pretty nasty. It sometimes escalates to the point where owners say their dogs may attack the police (they don’t quite threaten the police but it’s close) and the police respond by saying they’ll shoot the dogs if that happens which just makes things get more heated.
I think we’re all just waiting for the owner of the house to sell the place so some developer can build condos or something on the property.
Sorry about your dog.
On an unrelated note: the grammar Nazi in me must point out that Pickle’s comment in the last panel should read “dawdle” instead of daddle, which I’m pretty sure is not a real word.
Just FYI>
Thanks! I’ve been looking at that the last few days and thinking it looked wrong.
