Emerald City Comic Con this week! Woot.
Who’s gonna be there? I’ll be in artist alley at table Z6. Come by and say hello. Or if you are in the artist alley, let me know you table number.
Also I will be MIA for the weekend for the con, but reply to comments when I get back.
For those going to Emerald City Comic Con, I’ll be there in Artist Alley. Looking forward to meeting anyone who’s going. I’ll be at table Z6. See you there!
Oh man, this freaking wallpaper! I have no idea why I decided to do this to myself. And it goes on for 3 pages. Bad choices 🙂

Here are some more of that extra coloring effort. I added some eye glint to Trish and some color around her eyes. Just little touches here and there to try to step things up again.
What do you think? Does Trish like or hate that pink room? I can’t really decide.
Don’t know if it is noticeable but I spent a little more time on the colors. It is still very grounded in my style, but I added a few details like a varied skin tone and rim lighting.
This page is a nod to the the first volume of Hellboy. Hellboy is a big influence on me and Shiver Bureau. Would love it if Hellboy, Pickle, and Trish could hang out.
Feels really good to start drawing some actually pages for volume 2. I’ve really been dragging my feet, but it has always been the hardest for me to start. Now that I got some momentum hopefully I can keep it.
Thanks for reading!
Alright, here we go. Volume 2 starts today.
Just a fair bit of warning that it may be a rocky road. I had written 80 pages and scrapped all of it. I had an image of what I wanted the second volume to entail and as I wrote I grew to dislike it. So I started over. I like the direction I’m following now, but I’m still sculpting it. So it is possible there could be delays.
However the first 20 pages are pretty solid, so we should be good for at least that.
So that’s it. That is the end of the first arc of Shiver Bureau. What happens now you may be asking yourself…or maybe you’re just asking me. So here’s the answer.
- Shiver Bureau will go on a couple month hiatus, we will return June 2nd. I know that is slightly over a month, but my OCD will not allow me to start in the middle of May. I also know that I went on hiatus a couple of years ago and was gone forever. For everyone that stuck with me during that time, I really appreciate it and hope you will also stick with me again. Why am I taking time off? The Kickstarter was a big success and I have a bunch of commissions to draw and books to ship. I also have to start figuring out how to sell these books I have taking up space in my house. The website needs an update…etc, the list goes on. So I need to get my house in order and I don’t want to rush out pages.
- So what happens on June 2nd? I start posting a new story. This is going to be a 26 page one-shot story that takes place shortly after the events of ‘Welcome to London’. The story will breathe some life into the SB world and London. It’s also a huge nod to my favorite movie and one of my favorite TV shows.
- While that story is posting online, I will be working on the second volume. I can’t wait to get this volume done. It will be in a new location and really shed some light on the world of Shiver Bureau. It will also lead up to the third and final volume…at least that is the plan right now.
So that is where everything is at right now. If you have any questions or concerns about anything I stated above, please feel free to reach out to me. I’ve also noticed that I’ve stopped getting emails regarding comments to the website. If it takes me a while to respond, that’s why.
Thank you!
